Manage (Setup) Subdomain Redirection (Need more information on this topic?)

You can easily manage (setup) subdomain redirection using the cPanel interface.

What is subdomain redirection?

You can set any of your subdomains to point to a different location on your web site or server. For example, if we want support.cpx3demo.com to point to our sales page, we can setup a subdomain redirection and have it point to www.cpx3demo.com/sales.html or any url that's specific to our needs.

To get started, following the directions below.

1. Login to cPanel.

2. When the page loads, click on the "Subdomains" link in the Domains section.

3. When the page loads, find the subdomain you want manage (setup) redirection and click on the "Manage Redirection" link.

4. You can set the subdomain you chose in Step 3 above to be redirected to any url you want based on your personal needs. Enter the domain you want your subdomain to be redirected to in the text box.

Note: In our example above, we set support.cpx3demo.com to be redirected to http://www.cpanel.net. Also, if you are going to redirect the subdomain to a file, make sure you end the url with a trailing slash (See Example Below).

Example: http://www.cpanel.net/filename.php/

5. Click on the "Save" button.

6. The next page will state the following confirmation:

"support.cpx3demo.com is currently being redirected to http://www.cpanel.net"

7. Click on the "Go Back" link.

8. When you return to the subdomains list page, the "Redirection" column should now state the following:

If you need to modify the url the subdomain is being redirected to in the "Redirection" column, click on the "Manage Redirection" link in the Action column as described in Step 3 above.
