Location: Account Functions/Manage Shell Access
The Manage Shell Access feature provides the following options:
Enable Normal Shell - Full shell access.
Enable Jailed Shell - Limited shell access.
Disable - No shell access.
Shell Access allows an account holder to log into the web server using SSH. You can specify what particular shell each account uses when they log in (normal or jailed).
WARNING: Shell Access provides a level of access above that of normal cPanel access and should only be given to responsible and trustworthy customers.
1. When the page loads, there will be a two-column table consisting of the following information:
Domain
User
Shell - This column entry shows the following:
(disabled) - No shell access granted.
/bin/bash - Shell access has been granted.
2. Find the domain or user you want to manage Shell Access.
3. Next, click on the available button (Enable Normal Shell, Enable Jail Shell, or Disable).
Note: You can also click on the "Jail All Users" button to set all accounts to Jailed Shell.
