Configure ClamAV Scanner (Need more information on this topic?)

What is ClamAV? ClamAV is an anti-virus toolkit for UNIX based operating system. It can detect over 39000 viruses, worms, and trojans. This feature allows you to configure the level of virus scanning you wish clamAV to complete on your server. To learn more about ClamAV, visit http://www.clamav.net/.

 

When the page loads you will see the following two sections:

 

 

Scans Allow Globally

 

1. Click on the check box next to each ClamAV type you want to run for all users. Your choices are as follows:

 

 

2. Once you have made your selections in Step 1 above, click on the "Save" button.

 

ClamAV Scanner User Configuration

 

The "ClamAV Scanner User Configuration" feature allows you to set ClamAV configurations for a particular group or for a specific user:

 

 

Instructions for both are shown below.

 

Group Scanner Configuration

 

1. Click on the "User Configuration" button.

 

2. There are three columns displayed:

 

 

3. Click on a user you want to move to configure in the "User List" column.

 

4. Click on the "Add" button.

 

Note: You can click on the "Add All" button to move all users to the "Configured Users" list.

 

5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 above until you have added all the users you want to configure to the "Configured Users" list.

 

Note: To remove a user, highlight the user in the "Configured Users" list and click on the "Remove" button. To remove the entire group of users in the "Configure Users" list, click on the "Remove All" button.

 

6. Next, click on the check box next to each ClamAV type you want to run for the users you have selected to be in the "Configured Users" list. Your choices are as follows:

 

 

7. Once you have made your selections in Step 6 above, Click on the "Save Defaults" button.

 

User Scanner Configuration

 

1. Enter the name of the user you want to use to configure ClamAV settings in the "Configure User" text box.

 

2. Click on the "Configure" button.

 

3. Click on the check box next to each ClamAV type you want to run for all users. Your choices are as follows:

 

 

4. Once you have made your selections in Step 3 above, click on the "Save Defaults" button.
