FTP Configuration (Need more information on this topic?)

The FTP Configuration settings allow you to change between two different FTP servers:

 

 

The advantages and disadvantages of both servers are shown on the "Tweak FTP Settings" page when loaded. We have also provided this information in the following chart:

Proftpd

Pure-ftpd

Advantages

 

  • Faster Login Time

  • Smaller Memory Footprint

  • Allows Virtual Access on any ip address

  • Better Security Model

  • Virtual User Quotas

  • Deals better with Software Raid systems

Disadvantages

  • Larger Memory Footprint

 

 

Note: You can also enable or disable anonymous FTP for the entire machine, if required.

 

Installed FTP Server

 

Depending on which server you are using, it will be listed under the "Installed FTP Server" heading. Click on the "Switch to Proftpd" button or click on the "Switch to Pure-ftpd" button according to which server is showing.

 

Anonymous FTP

 

You can switch between enabled/disabled anonymous FTP. Click on the "Disable Anonymous Ftp" button or click on the "Enable Anonymous Ftp" button depending on the status of the Anonymous FTP setting. The status will be shown as follows:

 

"Anonymous Ftp is currently: enabled"
