Apache Update (Need more information on this topic?)

Location: Software/Apache Update

You can upgrade apache by using the "Apache Update" tool. Select the options you want to include in the apache build and click the build button. Some options are checked by default. You can uncheck these options according to your own specific needs.

ATTENTION: The new easyapache is undergoing intense quality assurance. Until further notice, we are defaulting to the legacy easyapache. If you prefer to use the new easyapache, remove the following file:

/var/cpanel/use_old_easyapache

Note: If you built apache 2.x your httpd.conf will be translated appropriately.

Loading the Previous Config

You can always load the previous config should you encounter any issues. To load the previous config file(s), click on the "Load Previous Config" button.

Start Rebuilding Apache

You can upgrade apache by using the "Apache Update" tool. Select the options you want to include in the apache build and click the build button. Some options are checked by default. You can uncheck these options according to your own specific needs.

Dynamic modules that were previously compiled into apache will not be removed. If you want to remove an apache module, remove it from httpd.conf and then restart apache.

Do not check every box as some options are not compatible or require third party software to be installed. If you do not know what to check, leave the default options checked, otherwise you may end up with a broken apache configuration that will not start up.

If you have installed third party modules that are not listed, you will need to recompile them after apache has been rebuilt. You may experience an unusable apache that produces segmentation faults until the old modules are recompiled or removed.

1. Go through the entire list and check/uncheck options specific to your needs.

2. Click on the "Start Build" button at the top of the list or the "Start Build" button located at the bottom of the list.
